Hazel has lived in Lucky Palms all her life and when her family moved away she decided to stay. When Andrew her ex found out she was staying, he asked her to house share and she agreed. They are very good friends since they dated but know their time has passed.

They soon realised living at the waterfront had a high price so decided to get some more roommates. Hazel had been friends with Kirsten for awhile and when she and Jake needed a place Hazel introduced them to Andrew and they all hit it off. Hazel advertised for another roommate and was quickly approached by a vampire asking that his son's nephew needed a place to stay. When she agreed he gave her his number and said all his side of the bills would be paid for but Mathew was not to know about this.

Hazel is a very independent person who goes for what she wants just like her roommate Kirsten. The difference between them is Hazel is not obvious about her feels about men she likes. When she first meets Matt she tells him he is hot which is unlike her but she has an instant attraction to him but his response was not what she was expecting.

Unfortunately because Kirsten is chasing after him she stays quiet about the way she feels. She hates seeing Kirsten throwing herself at Matt or any other guy. Will Hazel finally tell Matt how she feels?

Jake loves his sister Kirsten but she causes trouble when it comes to men. Jake loves her passion for love but feels because Kirsten is his family she should not sleep around. Jake however when it comes to his needs has a slightly different view, the more women the better. Most nights Jake will come home with a different girl. It's not that he wouldn't settle down but he feels it is just not the right time.

Kirsten and Jake often argue but the biggest row was when he gambled all the money away and stranded them in Lucky Palms. He got a part time job but that didn't last long. Even though he blew the money away he and Kirsten love it in Lucky Palms. Jake would like to stay here and make a fresh start, he just needs to stand on his own two feet and get a permanent job so he can afford to live here.

He tried to make a pass at his housemate Hazel but after she slapped him agreed to just be friends. He became good friends with Andrew who also lives at the house.

The moment Mathew moved in he suddenly saw the way Kirsten looked at him and realised trouble would be ahead. He has reservations about Mathew because he feels threatened that he could be competition but living under the same roof you need friends not enemies.

Kirsten Decker

Kirsten is a very head strong woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. She has been travelling with her younger brother Jake. The problem is they are now both stuck in Lucky Palms due to Jake gambling all their money away at the casino. Dad then cut the purse strings telling them both to earn their money. Kirsten works when she needs too but is more interested in men than working.

She uses her charms and is very forward in telling them what she wants. Her brother wants her to change and settle down but she isn't interested and is always arguing with Jake about her behaviour. She cares very much her brother and so far any woman who tries to get close to him, she pushes away. Kirsten is afraid that a new woman in her brother life means he would forget his big sister.

When she first meets Mathew, she has a new focus. She plans to charm Mathew to get what she wants but she soon discovers he is not like the other men she dates and the more he tries to push her away the more he intrigues her. She then discovers she is not the only woman in Lucky Palms that is after Mathew either.
