1.6 Reality

The boys were enjoying a night out at lucky dive. They did ask the girls to come but they were going to have a girls night in.

"So what was wrong with you, Andy?"
"I'm ok now. Anyway, what was that girl like?"

"She was good...umm very good her hands were all over me then as I was about go for the kill my bloody Dad interrupts us. I was so close, she so wanted it then because of him she goes home with someone else. All my hard work and that guy gets all the benefits."

"So you struck out!" Matt stated.
Jake looked at him and asked, "Did you lose anything?"

"Umm no but I kissed two cute girls."
"Is that it just kissed? Why haven't you..."
"I won't until I'm ready, so leave me alone ok?" Matt was so angry that he stormed off outside to cool down.
"Give him a break."
"Andy I know he is not like me or you but he needs to take a joke."
"Just lay off him."

"Why did you go with Avery?"
"I wanted to see Matt's reaction but he didn't care. I don't think he likes me."
"Kirst, not every man will like you and that does include Mathew."
"I know but he is so ripe I just wanna..." Hazel interrupted her and said, "Don't finish that sentence. Did you see Jake and..."
"That girl was all over my brother, that slut."
"I have to ask are you and your brother in competition."

"What? No we are not but after Dad showing up I think I need to get a job."
"And what about a man?"
"There aren't any nice guys in this town."
"Well we have ruled out Matt for you..."
"No you ruled Matt out for me, I never said I was giving up on him."
"Kirsten find someone else please."
"Wait, you like Matt. I mean really like him?"
"I think so but he hasn't noticed me."
"Look I'll back off for you but if you don't do something and soon I will. You should have stayed with Andy."
"That ship sailed a long time ago. Now there is a thought you and Andrew."
"Me and... wait a minute. I'm not his type and besides he and Jake both have lots of girlfriends, so I don't think he will ever settle down. Thanks for the laugh, I needed it."

Matt was calming down when he was approached by a man, "Hello." Matt just looked at him and nodded. "Are you Mathew Dark?" Matt knew something wasn't right but answered, "I am. Do I know you?"
"No but we have business to discuss."

"I have no business with you or anyone in this town so get lost." pushing the guy away. The guy grabbed Matt and harshly said, "I didn't come here to fight but let's face it kid I can beat you."

"Bring it on." Matt yelled at him. The guy punched Matt but he fought back and kicked him the stomach.

The guy had the wind taken out of him but regained his composer and punched Matt again and when he fell back against the wall the guy came close and said in a low tone, "Tell your Uncle Estevan no one severs business deals with me, got that?"

Matt nodded and then replied, "You will be sorry, now get lost." When he went back inside the boys saw he had a cut lip and was bleeding.
"What happened?" Jake asked.
"This ass hole threatened me and then we got in a fight. I need to go home and wash up."
The boys agreed to go with him but knew there had to be more to it.

1.5 Not going anywhere

After everyone had left, Jake took his Dad to the living room and Kirsten followed. "What is going on?" Matt enquired.

Hazel explained that Jake and Kirsten's Dad is very wealthy and he has certain expectations for them. Then the yelling started, "I don't care Kirsten you and Jake are coming home right now."

"We are not going anywhere." Jake stated.
"You don't have a choice."
"Dad, please. I like it here and so does Jake."
"I don't really care Kirsten your behaviour is and has been appalling. As for Jake you should know better."

Jake had had enough with his Dad's attitude and fought back, "You don't like what you see, well take a look in the mirror. How is mum by the way? Have you stopped screwing around yet because let's face it Dad our behaviour is based on what you taught us. Kirsten and I don't need you or your money. We are staying and we will settle when we are ready and not when you tell us too."
Shouting as he left, "This is not over Jake my boy."
"Are you ok Kirsten?"
"Yeah thanks. I think we need jobs now." Jake just hugged his sister. Matt walked in and asked, "Are you both ok?"

"I am now your here." cuddling up to Matt. He pushed her away and said, "Kirsten you are a nice person but you and I would never work."
"It could work." Then they heard the door slam and realised Andrew had left. Matt then said, "Trust me there is someone out there for you but the guy you are looking for is not me." Jake wanted to go and see what was wrong with Andrew but knew his sister needed him more after their Dads visit.
"Matt can you see what is wrong with Andrew." Matt agreed to see go after Andrew and left to find him.

When he finally caught up to Andrew he took him inside the coffeehouse and sat him down and said, "What's wrong?"
"I'm ok needed to get out the house."
"I can believe that but by the way you slammed the door there is more."
"You have been here less than a week and you're questioning me."
"Look you don't want to talk about it fine. I'll tell Jake where you are and you can tell him." Andrew looked like he had been hit with those words Matt had just spoken.
"I can't talk to Jake."
"Why not he's your best mate?"
"I just can't."
"Then tell me or I get Jake. As I can see something is on your mind."

Andrew sat up and started to talk, "What I'm about to tell you must keep to yourself." Matt gave a nod and Andrew continued, "Oh this is hard...when Jake and Kirsten first moved in things were great but as time went on I started to have feelings for Kirsten. The problem is she has never noticed me in that way and throws herself at different guys. At first I thought it was just a faze. Now it's been two years and nothing, I've hidden my feelings well but since you started living at the house and tonight with Avery, I guess I've realised I still have feelings for her."

Matt was in shock, he didn't know what to say other than, "I didn't know and if it's easier for you I'll move out."

"It's not you Matt. Don't move out. I'll just have to come to terms with it. Kirsten doesn't see me like that and learn to move on and hopefully one day I will find someone. I'm not what she wants in a guy. I'm not rich and she is used to money."
"Before tonight I would have believed that but after her and Jake stood up to their Dad, I really think she wants someone to really love. Just tell her the truth."
"I can't tell her. She would just brush me off."
"If you don't; you will regret it. She may even feel the same way as you do."
"I love your romantic ideas Matt but let's face it I'm not her type."

1.4 A disaster

The guests would be here any minute. They hadn't thrown a party in a while and since Matt had moved in they all thought it was the right excuse to have one. They were going to introduce Matt to all of their friends in town. Kirsten was trying to choose a dress and Hazel put her favourite outfit on. The music was now filling the house with sound.

Jake pulled Matt aside, "You will have your pick of the girls tonight, enjoy." Before he could say anything Andrew said, "If you don't like a girl pass her to me." Then they heard Hazel behind them, "Have you any shame?"
"I'm just out to have a good time; don't you want a good time?" Jake asked.
"We all want a good time but I don't plan to get laid. I just enjoy the evening and if a guy is nice enough then I might take a chance."
"Let's face it Hazel, woman are as bad as men, we are just honest about it."
"Jake call it what you want but for me there is no planning I just go with the flow of the night."
The door burst open and Avery walked up to Hazel, "Hay there."

Hazel looked horrified to see him, "Hi, now go away and leave me alone."
"Don't be like that." Pulling her closer to him.
The house was full of guests and everyone was talking and didn't notice what was going on accept Matt.
"Leave me alone." Avery was about to speak when Matt pulled him off Hazel and stood between them,

"Hazel wants to be left alone, so do as she asks and leave her alone."
"You need you boyfriend's protection now."
"He is not my boyfriend, not that it's your business anyway." shouting from behind Matt.
Avery walked away with his pride wounded at being turned down but soon found another person to have fun with.
"Hazel, are you ok?"
"Thanks Matt. I'm going outside for fresh air." He wasn't sure if he should go after her or stay. He was about to go outside when two girls approached him trapping him so he couldn't go anywhere, "Hi haven't seen you around here before." the one said.

"Jake said he has just moved here." Before Matt knew what was happening she kissed him and within a few minutes or so they were in a full blown kiss. Even though Kirsten was with Avery, she was annoyed at seeing Matt with another girl.

Hazel walked in to see Matt and the girl wrapped in each other and she stormed out. The boys hadn't noticed anything as they were too busy with their own female companions. For Andrew the night wasn't going to plan. His date for the night was great fun but every time he saw the girl he really wanted kissing another guy he wanted to fall apart.

He promised that one day he would tell her but until then he would continued to play the dating game. After a while the girl got fed up with Andrew's stop, start attitude and left him to it.

Hazel was just sitting there watching the water trickle by, "You know you can't hide out here forever!" Andrew told her.
"I remember a time when parties were fun."
"They still are. Is there someone you like, in there?"

Hazel let out a sigh, "Yes but he is busy with someone." Andrew cuddled her as he knew it was what she needed. He never asked for the guys name because he knew when Hazel was ready she would tell him. He remembered when they had dated only after a month they realised they were more friends than lovers. The good thing that came out of it was that they were always there for each other.

Andrew heard a cough and when he looked up all he could say was, "Shit." The man before him didn't look happy and continued to walk towards the house. Andrew and Hazel tried to stop him but this guy was on a mission. Hazel tried to run in front but this guy could walk fast when he was in a mood.
Jake was in a nice corner of the house with his hands over this girl. Kirsten was almost topless in another part of the room with Avery. Matt was lying on his bed with a big grin on his face, after his encounter with the two girls. He was starting to enjoy this life and wondered if kissing was fun, would sex be just as good. He couldn't wait to find out.

Suddenly the music stopped and when Jake looked at why the music stopped he saw his father standing in the door way, arms folded and tapping his foot. Andrew had just come in with Hazel. Jake gave Andrew a stinking look but he gestured back as if to say, I tried to stop him.
"This is what I've been paying for? Oh and look my daughter half naked, get some clothes on. And as for you get out." Staring at Avery.

1.3 I think I found him

Sitting at the blackjack table Matt was prepared to lose some money tonight. He had taken the boys advice and only took a small amount with him. Andrew and Jake took their places at the table and they placed their bets. Kirsten and Hazel decided to get a drink rather than watch the guys lose.

"So what do you think of Matt now you have met him?" Kirsten asked
"He's nice."
"Nice! That's it, come on Haz. You and I are talking about the same guy right?" Kirsten exclaimed.
"The first time we come face to face and he snaps at me so...yeah he's just nice."

"If you say so but I think you are hiding something from me. I'm going to check Jakey isn't gambling all his money away. Are you coming?"
"I'll stay here for a bit and finish my drink."

Hazel could hear the excitement and heartache coming from the table as the boys either won or lost. She left the bar to find a more comfortable seat. Hazel was enjoying a moment's peace when someone sat next to her.

"Hay sorry about snapping at you earlier."
"It's ok. You haven't run out of money already?"
Matt laughed and said, "No but Kirsten won't leave me alone."
"Yeah, well she won't leave you alone because she likes you." sounding irritated by talking about Kirsten.
"Did I say something wrong?"
"No not at all. Why is it, every guy in this town comes to me and talks about Kirsten? If you have a problem with her, here is an idea...Tell her not me!" Hazel shouted and stormed off before Matt could say anything else.
Andrew saw Hazel leave and decided to go after her. "Hazel wait there!" She stopped but said, "Andrew I'm now in the best of moods, I just need to be on my own."

"Bull, look sit here and talk to me."
"As soon as Matt talked about Kirsten I snapped at him. He must think I'm awful."
"What happened last night?"
"I got dumped again. I'm never going to find a nice guy. Do you know what the bastard said to me, I'm too young to be tied to just one woman, I need to explore my options?"
"Hazel I am sorry. Look I know you are hurting but Matt didn't do anything."
"I know..."
Andrew interrupted her and asked, "Do you like Matt?"
"He's good looking but so far the conversation he and I have had are not good as we snap at each other."
"You're afraid if Kirsten gets him then that's it."
"Remember the last guy she got? When she finished with him he left town."
"Yeah I remember Paul but he was nothing like Matt."
"She'll just ruin him and he will change."
Matt finally caught up to them, "Look I didn't mean to upset you, Hazel."

"It's not you it's Kirsten. I love her but you are not the only one to complain about her behaviour."
"I didn't mean to...look I won't bend your ear about her again ok."
"I promise not to yell at you again." smiling slightly at Mathew. Andrew asked if they were going back to the casino but Matt told Andrew he wasn't really the gambling type and wanted to get some sleep. Andrew went back towards the casino leaving Hazel and Matt to walk home.

Hazel sat on the sofa and asked, "It must have really hurt you to leave her?"
Matt just looked at the floor, "Snowie hasn't called and won't answer the phone to me, I just wish she understood that I'm sorry."
Hazel could see how hurt he was and said, "Wow here is a guy really upset and yet the guy that dumps me couldn't be happier. I know I shouldn't say this but I just wish my ex was just as upset as you right now."
Matt looked up and faced her and replied, "You will find someone soon; I know you will. Listen I'm tired, see you in the morning?"

Hazel watched as he walked out the room and whispered to herself, 'I think I just found him.'

1.2 Only just begun

Matt yelled at her as he tried to get free, "Stop this now Kirsten!"
"Why, what you going to do....?" before finishing her sentence, Jake coughed loudly. "Sis get back to your bed, NOW." as he spoke with a firm tone.
"Jakey, I was only having some fun with Matt here." Kirsten climbed off Matt and made her way up the stairs back to bed. "Sorry about that, as you can tell my sister is very flirty. I doubt any guy will tame her."

The next morning Matt got up early and decided to get to the bathroom before anyone else was awake. He crept upstairs and locked himself in there. He looked at his reflection and couldn't decide if what happened last night was a good thing or bad thing.

He was angry at Kirsten for forcing herself on him but at the same time he started to have weird feelings, maybe Dad was right he should get life experience but he didn't think sleeping around was what his Dad had in mind. One thing he had decided to do was get a new look. If a girl approached him and he experienced these strange feelings again he was going to explore them to a point.

After he had finished getting changed there was a knock on the door, "Hurry up I need the bathroom."
Matt opened the door and Hazel stood in front of him, "Oh Hi, I'm Hazel and you must be Mathew."
"Yeah that's right. But how did you know? You ran upstairs when you came in." Matt enquired.
"Kirsten bent my ear about you last night but she never said you were hot."

"Not you as well!"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Sorry it's just Kirsten threw herself at me and I'm not used to girls doing that."
"Well, I don't throw myself at men like she does so if you will excuse me." Pushing Matt out of her way. Matt was now puzzled at Hazel's reaction to his comment. He needed to get out of this house.

"Where you off too?" Andrew asked
"Out. Why?"
"I'll come with you and show you around the town." As they walked around the town Matt noticed there were no clubs.

"What do you do for fun here?" Matt asked.
"It's either the coffeehouse with live entertainment, Lucky Dive or my favourite the casino. Have to be careful in the casino or they take all your money. I go there mostly to pick up woman. Now I've seen how the girls react to you, I think you could help me and Jake out. I mean Jake doesn't do badly but I haven't had anything in months."
"I don't know!"
"You're not gay are you?"
"No I'm not but..."

"Listen I get it...you haven't had much experience but trust me when I say there are too many woman out here not to have fun with."
"What happens if you want to have some privacy?"

"Either let us know and we stay away but there is a time limit or go to her place."
"Hay I can't go to a time limit..."
"Well either learn or as I just said go to her place."

Matt was ready to go to the casino with the boys when Kirsten trapped him, "I could be your lucky charm tonight."

Matt decided a enough was enough he pinned her to the wall and said very firmly, "Leave me alone or you might get what you want." Kirsten didn't know what to do. Men would tease her back or tell her to piss off but never had they been quite as blunt as Mathew was just then.
Maybe Jake was right after all, "Look I'm sorry but I was just having a bit of fun."
"Were you, Kirsten? This fun has got to end now." Then he walked away leaving her stunned. Jake came back into the house, "Let's go taxi will be here to take us to the casino."
Matt went outside to wait with the others.

"Sis, are you staying here or have you changed your mind and come to the casino?"
"I'm coming with you."
"Wow sis you look nice. Please behave around men tonight."
"Jakey don't worry about me as the games have only just begun."
